About Us

Dannelly Air National Guard (DANG) Bass Club, Montgomery, Alabama was found back in the early 1980s by a group of Airman that loved the sport of competitive bass fishing. Today four of the original founders GT Smith, Harold Finney, Billy Lee and James Barrett still fish competitively each month in club events. We constantly search for new teams inviting them to come and join our club and fish with us in a competitive atmosphere. New membership requires a recommendation by any club member and must be approved by a majority of existing club members present. Fishing as a guest or member of the club requires a signed liability release form. A link to the form is located at the bottom of each page.

We have an attendance roster of 5 to 20 two man teams each year. You fish with your partner the whole year. You can also fish by yourself if you do not have a partner. Our tournaments are normally on Monday therefore we miss all weekend traffic on local lakes and rivers. We have three night tournaments in June, July and August due to hot weather and two, two day tournaments one usually in the spring and one in the fall. Our members are professionals and treat all with respect.

We have one meeting a year in the month of December to schedule our fishing tournaments for the entire year, elect officers, and make any rule changes necessary to our bylaws.

We abide by all Alabama State Laws and DANG bylaws in each tournament that the club holds. Our web site contains the latest club information, stats, and up to date pictures on the club's happenings. The club’s web pages are posted to benefit all. The DANG Bass Club’s philosophy and vision remains; promote conservation and what’s good for the sport of bass fishing by providing and avenue to get away from it all and have some fun.
